Who we are
UX Pacific is a user experience research and design practice based in Ahmedabad, India. We run research, audits and design work for organisations across products, services and physical spaces.
This policy covers this website and the research we carry out for our clients. Where we run a study on a client’s behalf, that client is the data controller and we act as a processor under their instructions.
If you have a question about anything here, write to us at UX Pacific, 512 Majestic Plaza, Panchvati Circle, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, or email hello@uxpacific.com.
Information you give us
Two forms on this site send us information, and both only collect what the conversation needs:
- Project enquiries: your name, email address, phone number, company, the service you are interested in, and whatever you tell us about the project.
- Job applications: your name, email address, phone number, current company, portfolio and LinkedIn links, location, years of experience, your CV, a project you are proud of, and how you heard about the role.
Submissions are sent to our own server and stored in our database so we can reply and keep track of the conversation. We do not sell them, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you enquired.
Both forms include a hidden field that real people never see. It exists only to catch automated spam, and anything caught by it is discarded rather than stored.
If you take part in our research
Most of the personal information we handle belongs to research participants rather than website visitors, so it is worth setting out separately.
When you take part in a study we may record audio, video or screen activity, take notes, and collect whatever screening details the study requires. We tell you what is being recorded before it starts, and taking part is always voluntary. You can stop at any point, and you can ask us to delete your recording afterwards.
Findings we report to clients are written up in aggregate. Where we quote or show a clip, we ask for your consent separately, and we remove names and identifying details unless you have agreed otherwise.
Information collected automatically
Our web server keeps standard request logs: IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested and when. These are used to keep the site running and secure, and to diagnose faults.
[PLACEHOLDER: name your analytics provider here if one is added.] At the time of writing this site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. See the Cookie Policy for the current position.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and to scope, quote and deliver work.
- To assess your job application and contact you about it.
- To run research studies we have been commissioned to run.
- To keep the site available, secure and working.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We rely on your consent for research participation and for optional cookies, on legitimate interests for running and securing the site and for responding to business enquiries, on the steps necessary to enter a contract for proposals and engagements, and on legal obligation where the law requires us to keep records.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you come back to us. Applications are kept for the duration of the hiring process and, if you agree, for future openings.
Research data is kept for the period agreed with the client commissioning the study, then deleted or returned. Recordings are deleted sooner where a participant asks us to.
Records we must keep for tax or legal reasons are kept for as long as the law requires and no longer.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
We share it only with: the client who commissioned a study, in the aggregated form described above; service providers who host our site and email and who handle it only on our instructions; and anyone we are legally required to disclose it to.
Our hosting is in a data centre that may sit outside your country. Where information moves across borders we take steps to see that it stays protected to the standard described here.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we are using it, or withdraw consent you have given, including consent to a recording.
To do any of these, write to us at UX Pacific, 512 Majestic Plaza, Panchvati Circle, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, or email hello@uxpacific.com. We will respond within a month, and we will not charge you for it.
How we protect it
The site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are validated and stored using parameterised database queries, and access to submissions is limited to the people who need it.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. If a breach affects you and carries real risk, we will tell you and the relevant authority promptly.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when what we do changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
Questions about any of it: UX Pacific, 512 Majestic Plaza, Panchvati Circle, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, or email hello@uxpacific.com.
